On The Trail – Camp Out
December 11–12, 2026 · Wayne, Oklahoma
We’re heading back to the woods. Join us for a night of campfires, hands-on skills, and time together in God’s creation. Last year’s camp-out had boys building slingshots, fishing, cooking over the fire, and exploring alongside the men investing in them. This one will be just as full.
Cost
$30 per attendee, men and boys alike. Covers Saturday breakfast, lunch, and dinner, plus all camp fees. Friday dinner is on your own, so eat beforehand or bring something to cook. If you travel with our convoy from North Cities, we’ll make a food stop on the way, like last year. Financial help is available, and no boy is turned away for lack of money. Just let us know.
Weather
Early December in Wayne is usually pleasant: daytime highs in the low 50s, with nights around freezing. Last year’s camp-out was mild the whole time. Pack layers so everyone stays comfortable. We’ll make a weather call by Wednesday, December 9, and email everyone registered.
What We’ll Do
Activities are still being finalized. Expect outdoor skills, campfire discussions, cooking, exploring, and plenty of hands-on challenges. We’ll post the full lineup as it comes together.
What to Bring
- Tent, warm sleeping bag (rated 30°F or lower), and sleeping pad
- Flashlight or headlamp, with extra batteries
- Sturdy shoes or boots
- Layers and a jacket, a warm hat, and gloves
- Extra dry socks for sleeping
- Water bottle
- Personal hygiene items
Spare gear is available if you don’t have your own. Ask us before the trip.
Who Can Come
- Open to all men and boys.
- Boys attend with a parent, legal guardian, or an adult their parent has approved. A boy attending without his parent needs signed parent/guardian consent and is assigned to a background-checked Men With Hearts leader.
- Boys under five attend with a parent or guardian.
- Every man 18 or older must complete a background check and child-safety training before the trip.
- Boys share a tent only with their own parent or guardian, or with other boys. Adults don’t share a tent with a boy who isn’t their own child.
