Our Mission

We develop boys and young men into responsible, principled leaders through meaningful relationships with caring adult men. Through structured mentorship, outdoor experiences, character-building activities, and community service, we cultivate integrity, responsibility, compassion, teamwork, and servant leadership — strengthening families, improving communities, and preparing the next generation to make a positive impact on the world.

Why We Exist

About one in five American children lives in a mother-only household, roughly 15 million kids. That number measures where children live, not how involved their fathers are. But it points to something we see every day: many boys are growing up without a man consistently in their corner.

Research associates the absence of a father in the home with higher rates of school struggles, substance use, and justice-system involvement. In a 2016 survey of people in state and federal prisons, 41% reported growing up primarily with their mother, compared with 36% who grew up with both parents. None of that is destiny. It’s a reason to show up.

What’s in short supply isn’t need. It’s men willing to step in. Men With Hearts exists to close that gap.

What We Do

Through monthly gatherings and outdoor adventures, we combine purposeful experiences with intentional mentorship. From fishing and camping to carpentry, leadership challenges, and community service projects, every activity is designed to:

• Build skills and resilience in the young men we serve
• Strengthen character through experience, not lecture
• Forge lasting relationships between boys and the men investing in them
• Strengthen families by supporting fathers and surrounding boys with positive male examples
• Serve communities through volunteer projects led by the boys and men of Men With Hearts

Who Can Join

Boys and young men. Any boy is welcome when he attends with a parent, legal guardian, or an adult his parent has approved. A boy may attend without his parent only when his parent or guardian has signed our consent form for that event and he is assigned to a background-checked Men With Hearts leader. Boys under five attend with a parent or guardian.

Mentors and volunteers. Adult men 18 and older who affirm our mission, values, and character standards, complete required background checks and child-safety training, and are willing to invest in boys over time. We welcome men of all backgrounds who can model the character qualities we hope to instill — integrity, responsibility, humility, servant leadership, and love for others.

Our Heart

Men With Hearts was founded by men whose lives have been shaped by Christian faith and a shared conviction that boys today need strong, principled male role models to become the men this country needs. While our programs are open to families of every background and are never conditioned on agreement with our founders’ beliefs, the character we work to instill — integrity, compassion, servant leadership, responsibility, and love for others — reflects the values that brought us together.

We don’t lead with a label that closes doors before we meet the boy. We get them in. We teach them friendship, integrity, and what a real man looks like. The boys we serve come as they are. The men who lead them rise to a standard.
